The heat of the night in Monterrey is broken by a gale from the far north! Yes, Canada's LuFisto is back in Mexico, where she teamed up with Shira to battle Tsunami and Polly Star in a Best of Three Falls tag match! The Technicas won the first fall with a double elimination as LuFisto pinned Tsunami's shoulders to the mat while Shira had little difficulty eliminating Polly. Things were looking almost too easy for LuFisto and Shira as the second fall began...but the Rudas quickly changed that. Polly and Tsunami quickly began to dominate their opponents, and the end came when Polly nailed LuFisto with a brutal chair shot to the head, followed by Tsunami delivering a devastating Choke Slam to the Canadian, leaving her ripe for the pin! Afterward, there were several moments of doubt as to whether LuFisto would even be in any shape to compete in the third and deciding fall.
For the third fall, one has to suspect that Shira and LuFisto must like airplanes, because they spent a lot of time flying through the air. The shift in tactics to an aerial offensive took the advantage away from the Rudas, although Polly and Tsunami sought to regain control by taking the match outside of the ring. Ultimately, it was a crippling Crossface on Tsunami, courtesy of LuFisto, and gave the Technicas the victory!
In the semi-main event, Diana la Cazadora put her City of Monterrey Championship on the line against Chacala. The first fall went to the champ, as she drew a submission from her challenger, and tonight's match looked to be another certain triumph for Diana. However, several fans of Chacala in the crowd, unhappy that it appeared their favorite was destined to lose this match, began to loudly jeer Diana. The taunts seemed to rattle the champion, and she turned her attention away from her opponent in the second round to address the hecklers. That decision proved to be disastrous, as Chacala went on the offensive and rarely gave the champ any opportunity to strike back. The second round ended in sweet victory for Chacala, as she forced Diana to verbally submit the fall...a rare admission of defeat from la Cazadora!
Everything was on the line in the third and final round, and Diana went on the offensive. But Chacala, on an adrenalin high from her second round triumph, would not be denied. The fans began to chant, "Powerbomb! Powerbomb!" and the challenger did not disappoint them. Diana was literally slammed through the ring by Chacala, and the three count from the referee was merely a formality. The LLF has a new City of Monterrey Champion!
In other action, Tigresa del Norte had no problems disposing of Reina Vampira in short order, while Felina and Princesa Yara beat the team of Novia de Jasón and Tigresa del Norte (working a second match on this card), Felina taking one fall over Tigresa with a Huracarana, and Yara pinning Novia de Jasón to win the match.
The LLF returns to Monterrey on the 25th in an "extreme" card that features Nikki Roxx against Tsunami!
