The heat wave continues to grip Monterrey, but the action in the LLF Arena was far hotter than the weather!
On Friday the 24th, Lucha Libre Femenil debuted their first-ever All Extreme Card! The rules were simple...because there were virtually none of them. This would be a night not only of skill and desire, but also of endurance for the Luchadoras.
The first bout of the evening was a Four Way Match between Luz de Luna, Flor de Loto, La Bruja, and Reina Vampira. La Bruja eventually won a wild contest.
Next came a No Holds Barred Match between Tigresa del Norte and Princess Yara. The ring couldn't hold this one...not could the arena! They wound up brawling outside on the street, where Tigresa finally managed to pin Yara.
A woman who is getting a lot of attention now is Chacala, who shocked the LLF last week by defeating Diana la Cazadora in an upset for the Monterrey City Championship. Tonight, there seemed to be more than a few of Diana's fans who were cheering on Felina to defeat Chacala in their Bull Terrier Match, apparently feeling that a Felina victory would help avenge in part their heroine's defeat last Friday. However, despite a tremendous effort by Felina, it was not to be, as Chacala managed to tag all four corners and claim another big victory.
Shira was a great surprise because she has never wrestled in a hardcore match before, and she demonstrated some excellent moves against Polly Star. Unfortunately, the referee for this was Polly's friend Novia de Jason, so this was essentially a two-on-one match against Shira. Polly had sworn that she would destroy Shira, and she came close to achieving that! When the match finally ended with a pin, the beaten Shira's face was a mask of her own blood, and she was in need of serious medical attention backstage!
The semi-main event this night was a First Blood Match between Tsunami, one of the fastest rising stars in the LLF today, and the USA's Nikki Roxx. So popular is "La Gringa" with the fans, this entire show was actually titled "The Return of Nikki Roxx!" This match started in the ring, but soon spilled onto the arena floor, and then out into the street, where they slammed each other into the parked cars! The women smashed chairs over each other's heads in attempts to bust the the other open and win the match by drawing blood, but it wasn't until Tsunami grabbed the heavy metal cover of an ice cooler and hammered Nikki with it mercilessly that blood was finally drawn. La Gringa went down to defeat as she was blinded by her own blood.
The main event featured the woman who is undoubtedly the Queen of Hardcore, Canada's LuFisto, who put her Extreme Championship belt on the line against Luna Magica, a challenger with some serious extreme credentials of her own. This was to be a Table Match, but upon arriving at the arena, the wrestlers discovered that there were no tables to be had. The promoter suggested taking some of the wooden doors off of the hinges and using them instead, but LuFisto had another idea; wanting to make this match truly extreme, she had a "table" made out of many long fluorescent light bulbs, knowing that the woman who was sent through that...and she intended that woman to be Luna...would not only be declared the loser of the match, but would also be cut a thousand times by the glass!
And, as if that wasn't enough, the wrestlers could use anything they could get their hands on in the arena as weapons to use against each other! So wild was the action expected to get in this battle, the LLF assigned not only El Mulato as the referee, but they also named Novia de Jason as the Special Official to try and keep LuFisto and Luna from killing each other!
Still, perhaps to the surprise of many, the two women fought each other first with a series of technical submission moves, each trying to wear the other down. LuFisto was in control much of the time, but Luna more than holds her own. In time, the suplexes and armlocks give way to kicks, low blows, and even strangling with a chain. The fight becomes a real brawl and eventually spills out of the ring. As they battle it out amongst the crowd, Luna gets control of the match, and as the challenger drags the champion over to the table, it looks as if it's all over for LuFisto.
However, the Canadian isn't ready to go down to defeat just yet! She starts to kick and stomp at Luna, and overwhelms her with a Bronco Buster. Now LuFisto tries to throw her opponent through the table, but this time it's Luna's turn to reverse things, and the battle begins anew!
Again Luna Magica is in command of the match, and it looks as if she is mere moments away from defeating her foe and claiming the belt. Luna goes for a Hurricanrana to finish LuFisto off once and for all...but in an incredible show of raw power, LuFisto catches her in mid-air and slams Luna through the table of lights!
Another win for LuFisto, while Luna Magica was in need of medical attention backstage following this bloody battle. What makes this victory all the sweeter for LuFisto is that it marked her eighth year in wrestling. Congratulations to the LLF Extreme Champion for another phenomenal triumph!
