On August the 2nd in Arena Coliseo Monterrey, the city’s oldest and traditionally important building for wrestling, Ariel faced her hated nemesis, Tsunami, and beat the masked ruda, thus giving Ariel the right to challenge her for the LLF Juvenil Championship belt. The young American wasted no time in leveling her challenge, and was so excited about the prospect of winning the belt, her demand came in a mixture of English, Spanish and her native Portuguese!
Tsunami, however, was in no hurry to give her answer…so the LLF replied for her, announcing that the two wrestlers would meet for the belt the following week, August the 9th.
Their title battle was technically the second match of the evening, but when it was all over, to many of the fans in attendance, it was a genuine main event headline match!
Ariel was like a house afire, charging at her opponent from the opening bell and going on the attack, keeping the masked grappler on the defensive for much of the round. When she managed to roll Tsunami up for the three count…which the ruda loudly protested about afterward to the referee, arguing that he counted too fast…it looked as if Ariel might very well be on her way to victory. She must have sensed that, because she was so elated, she jumped out of the ring between rounds and happily danced with some of the fans!
However, as she climbed back into the ring, she discovered the hard way that her opponent wasn’t one for trivial things…like waiting for the bell to sound! Tsunami nailed Ariel with a hard blow, and from that moment to the final pin, the second round was completely owned by the champion. Now, the score was tied at one fall apiece, and neither woman could afford to make any mistakes.
They went at each other with everything they had! At one point, it looked as if Tsunami would win the match after nailing Ariel with a Stunner, but the American recovered, and very quickly nearly had the ruda finished with her Arielcutter. When the fight spilled out onto the arena floor, all bets were off. Tsunami focused much of her efforts on Ariel’s legs, which eventually left the brunette severely hurt and weakened from the attacks, and ultimately left her prey to a pin.
Tsunami had made her first successful defense of the Juvenil title since winning it from Nikki Roxx, and she had done so by beating one of the most popular wrestlers in the LLF. Still, this match did not come even close to settling the feud between the two, and Ariel immediately demanded a rematch. Given how much the fans enjoyed this match, there seems little doubt that the LLF will deny Ariel another shot at the belt…no matter how much Tsunami may wish to avoid having to face the American again anytime soon!
