LUCHA LIBRE FEMENIL ARENA

Another great night of Lucha Libre Femenil action, with a main event rematch that the fans demanded happen!
In the first match of the evening, Reina Vampira fought Flor de Loto in a Bull Terrier Match. Flor’s recent ruda turn seems to have done wonders for her career, as she has yet to lose a match since she shocked the fans by changing sides, and she again scored the victory, having tagged all four corners of the ring.
Next up was a match that sounded interesting in theory, but in execution wasn’t as exciting as the fans had hoped. Polly Star, Luz de Luna and Flor de Loto, in her second consecutive match, faces Tigresa del Norte, Shira, and Josseline in a Six Woman Tag Match. The problem seemed to stem from the incompatibility of the team of Tigresa, a ruda, Shira, a technica, and Josseline, a visiting wrestler from Mexico City who has a ring style that didn’t mesh well with her partners. As a result, the trio of Polly, Luz and Flor had little trouble with their opponents. The end came when Shira made the mistake of arguing with a taunting fan, and Polly hit her from behind with a fluorescent light tube, setting her up for a pin by Luz. Probably the best thing to come out of this match was the fact that an angry Shira challenged Polly Star to a No Rules battle for the next week, and Polly agreed.
The semi-main event of the night was for the Monterrey City Belt, held by Chacala, against the challenge of Luna Mágica. After the first two falls, which saw the wrestlers divide the pins between them, they went into the third and deciding round with renewed fury. And while it looked for a few minutes as if Luna might win and claim the belt, Chacala battled back. After devastating her opponent with her tremendous ‘Chacala Bomb,’ the champ retained her belt. It’s worth noting that the fans cheer Chacala as much…if not more so…as any technica! Her popularity is truly amazing!
The fans could barely contain themselves when the time for the Main Event finally arrived! This was a rematch to a battle fought just three days earlier, in which Tsunami retained her LLF Jevenil Championship against the challenge of Ariel in a brutal match. The American grappler demanded an immediate rematch, and although Tsunami was hesitant, the LLF Commissioner was not, and he booked it for this card.
For this match, Tsunami debuted a new ring costume, but Ariel definitely got the better response from the crowd when she started dancing with a few of the fans, which has become a signature entrance for her now. Unhappy with having to wait while her opponent played with her fans, Tsunami jumped out of the ring and attacked Ariel, thus starting the match early.
The two wrestlers didn’t even bother trying to get into the ring, instead waging their battle all through the arena, slamming one another into tables, chairs and walls! Tsunami delivered two devastatingly beautiful Guillotine Drops, both using the steel ring steps, which left Ariel dazed and bloody. Anticipating victory, Tsunami ceased her attack in order to pose triumphantly over the body of her foe and to taunt the American. That was Tsunami’s mistake.
With a surge of adrenalin, Ariel roared back, and soon she had the masked ruda in serious trouble! With Tsunami at her mercy, Ariel decided to deliver the ultimate humiliation to the luchadora…she tried to remove her mask! And although she was unable to tear it off, she succeeded in damaging it so badly, Tsunami fled the arena for the locker room, where luckily for her she kept a spare mask.
When she returned to the fight, however, it wasn’t only a new mask she brought with her…Tsunami had also grabbed a pair of handcuffs! Overpowering her opponent, the masked woman was able to cuff Ariel to a steel pole, leaving her helpless as the ruda unleashed a barrage of punches, kicks and slaps to the bloodied brunette.
The referee finally managed to free Ariel, and the battle resumed. This time, it raged above the crowd, as the two wrestlers climbed a ladder to a cement ledge over the arena’s office. After much punching back and forth, Ariel managed to dump Tsunami into a larger container of water, and the American seemed intent on drowning her foe! When the referee and other LLF officials were finally pulled Ariel off of her victim and pulled Tsunami out of the water, the ruda was apparently unconscious. There was great confusion for several moments, as calls went out for the ambulancia, and thoughts were now turned toward providing possible First Aid to the masked woman. Ariel seemed to be in shock as the idea that she may very nearly have killed her opponent finally cleared the fury from her mind.
But when Tsunami suddenly sprang to life, it became clear that her condition was merely a ruse to trick Ariel! She caught the American by surprise and laid her out with a Choke Slam to the ledge, leaving Ariel knocked out, and giving the match to Tsunami
The Juvenil Champion may not have wanted this rematch, but when it was over, she was still furious that Ariel had tried to embarrass her by taking off her mask, and Tsunami angrily demanded yet another match with her nemesis. What remains to be seen is just what will be on the line, although fan speculation is already leaning toward a Mask vs. Hair Match. But whatever the stipulations will be, there can be no doubt that it will be another titanic battle between these two great foes!
