The show this night was a tribute to the classic 1960s style of Lucha Libre, with all six matches being one-to-one-to-one fall or 20 minute time limit, the only way to win being by submission.
In the first match of the evening, Reina Vampira fought Flor de Loto in a Bull Terrier Match. Flor’s recent ruda turn seems to have done wonders for her career, as she has yet to lose a match since she shocked the fans by changing sides, and she again scored the victory, having tagged all four corners of the ring.
The show was kicked off with a rematch between Flor de Loto and Reina Vampira. Once more, Flor proves that her shocking decision to turn ruda several weeks ago was a smart one, as she has yet to taste defeat. Tonight was no different than the match against Reina a week earlier, as Flor once again scores another win.
The second match was between newcomer Canadian Aurora, who has quickly become a favorite of the fans, and Luz de Luna. Despite having the fans backing her, Aurora fell to the luchadora when Luz applied a crippling leghold to the Canadian, forcing her to submit.
In a wild match between the lucha cats, La Felina battled Tigresa del Norte (debuting a new ring outfit). Perhaps the new attire was one of the reasons why Tigresa battled so fiercely, and overall did much better in this match than she has in recent weeks. Coming out of her slump, Tigresa showed the fans that her years of experience make her a formidable opponent, and she won match with an “Espectrina” DDT to pin combo.
The fourth match of the night saw the incredibly popular La Chacala face Princesa Yara. The masked woman put up a valiant fight, but Chacala was simply overwhelming! At the end of the match, the ruda hinted that she would use her devastating “Bombazo” power bomb, one of the most devastating finishers in all of Mexico, but then adhered to the rules of the evening and forced Yara to surrender instead…which, for the lucky Princesa, meant that she was able to walk out of the ring on her own, rather than have to be carried out on a stretcher!
The two wrestlers didn’t even bother trying to get into the ring, instead waging their battle all through the arena, slamming one another into tables, chairs and walls! Tsunami delivered two devastatingly beautiful Guillotine Drops, both using the steel ring steps, which left Ariel dazed and bloody. Anticipating victory, Tsunami ceased her attack in order to pose triumphantly over the body of her foe and to taunt the American. That was Tsunami’s mistake.
Following the events of last week’s Six Woman Tag Match, Shira challenged Polly Star to a match at this show. Initially, Shira wanted it to be a No Rules Battle, but as that would not fit in with the theme of tonight’s card, that stipulation was changed…and that was probably best for Shira, who was overcome with anger when she made the challenge, and such a match undoubtedly favored Polly more than the young technical. As it was, Shira controlled much of this match with an array of impressive submission holds, and managed to wring a submission out of the exhausted Polly Star with a Camel Clutch. Unfortunately for Shira, Intrusa then rushed out from the backstage to attack the technical with a solid wooden board! Although nothing has yet been announced, it is expected that Shira will demand a match with Intrusa to answer this unprovoked assault…and she may yet insist on having that No Rules battle with Polly as well someday soon!

In the main event of the evening, a trophy commemorating the third anniversary of the Arena Femenil Monterrey was placed on the line. This battle saw the continuation of…and what threatened to be the brutal finale of…the Tsunami and Ariel feud.
This was a hard-hitting match between two wrestlers who absolutely HATE one another, with both women utilizing every submission hold they knew to try and force the other to surrender. Ariel managed to weaken Tsunami considerably with a series of powerful kicks to the masked luchadora’s body, setting her up for her ultimate submission.
However, although Ariel won the match, the battle did not stop there! The two rivals tore into each other like wildcats; when the referee attempted to pull them apart, Tsunami nailed him with a glass tube across his head. No doubt about it…this feud is far from over! Unfortunately for fans in Mexico, this was Ariel’s final tour of the season. But everyone in Monterrey is anxiously awaiting her triumphant return in a few months!
At night’s end, the LLF Promoter announced that at next week’s card, the search for new Tag Team Champions will begin!
