Another great night of lucha action in Monterrey!
DONCELLA and DARK MAGIC team up to face the duo of POLLY STAR and FLOR DE LOTO to kick off the night’s action. The rudas have the edge in experience, but the technicas more than hold their own. Dark Magic, the young protégé of Luna Magica, in particular impresses the fans with her abilities. But the veteran rudas manage to seize the victory. Then, to add insult to injury, they humiliate Doncella by removing her mask! Doncella will attempt to get a measure of revenge and regain some of her honor next week (see upcoming matches).
Shira was announced to face VAMPIRESA in a Barefoot Match, but in their previous match the week before, Shira suffered an injury to her ribs, and the doctor would not clear her to wrestle tonight. But whatever disappointment the fans felt over not being able to see the popular Shira in action was overcome by their shock when her replacement was announced: DIANA LA CAZADORA! Yes, the former Monterrey City Champion made her LLF return at last (after dropping out at the last minute from the Six Woman Tag Match she was booked to compete in the week before).
In more tag team action, FELINA and LUNA MAGICA fought INTRUSA and TIGRESA in what was without a doubt the most violent match of the night! The rudas have been more and more savage in their matches in recent weeks, and tonight was no exception as Tigresa and Intrusa complete disregarded the rulebook and did whatever they could to not merely beat their opponents, but to seriously injure them! In the end, Felina and Luna win via disqualification, but fans and luchadoras alike are left wondering how much longer this will go on before Intrusa and Tigresa permanently cripple an opponent.
Vampiresa did not seem overly impressed by her celebrated opponent, and when the opening bell rang, the ruda went on the attack. Wrestling barefoot can be hazardous, but neither luchadora held back anything. Diana was in good form, and there were definite flashes of her renowned brilliance, but there were also moments when she seemed hesitant. Vampiresa seized upon these moments, and scored what is undeniably one of the biggest victories of her career by beating Diana in what many fans consider an upset!
In the main event of the night, AMERICAN ANGEL returns to Mexico to team with PRINCESA YARA and face the challenge of TSUNAMI and LA CHACALA!
This was an exceptionally fast-paced match, with much of the action coming from Angel and Chacala, each of whom took an instant dislike of one another. They made for good opponents, being of similar size and closely matched in strength, and often in this tag battle, it seemed the contest was more a struggle between these two than a duel of teams. The end was in doubt until the final seconds, when Yara and Angel succeeded in beating their opponents. But while this battle was done, it was apparent to all that a new rivalry between American Angel and Chacala has been born, and will not be settled anytime soon!
