MONTERREY ACTION!
Opening Friday’s show were Luna Magica and Flor de Loto, with the magical one pinning the flower for the ‘W’.
The second match saw La Felina more or less dominating Reina Vampira, in a solid victory for the Luchadora that could signal she’s ready for the next step closer to main event status.
Next, Diana la Cazadora and Luna Magica teamed to take on Intrusa and Tigresa del Norte. LLF fans know that Diana has not had an easy time of it, having gone from being the promotion’s “Muchacha de Oro” into a career tailspin following a devastating title loss to Chacala this past summer. Lately, however, Diana has begun rebuilding her career with a series of small victories. But tonight would prove to be her biggest win in months…should she and Luna manage to win, that is.
In a raucous three fall battle, Diana and Luna proved themselves to be adept at partners, culminating in impressive double Olympic Bridge Pins of both Tigresa and Intrusa to decide the third and final fall! No doubt about it, this match signaled that the Huntress is fast regaining her old form. Could a challenge to Chacala be far behind?
In the highly-anticipated main event of the night, Polly Star teamed up with Shira to take on two of Polly’s former allies, La Chacala and Tsunami. But the excitement which the fans felt over watching these four talented ladies battle it out suddenly turned to horror when a freak accident struck: Shira slipped from the ring apron and landed hard on the floor, complaining of severe pain and difficulty in moving. Paramedics were called, and she was rushed by ambulance to nearby University Hospital. Although an official statement has not yet been released by the LLF, preliminary word is that Shira injured her coccyx (tailbone). Most likely, she will not be medically cleared to work any of the LLF anniversary shows planned for next month, sadly.
LLF officials hurriedly sent out Intrusa (pulling double duty tonight) to take Shira’s place and continue the match, but Tsunami and Chacala were able to capitalize on the unexpected turn of events, unleashing a torrent of blows upon their opponents, and ultimately winning the match. This defeat was a stunning setback for Polly Star, who not only lost to the rudas (her former friends, who turned on her in the recent tournament), but with Shira’s injury, she lost the only luchadora who as yet was willing to trust this former bad girl. Whether Intrusa or anyone else will step forward to aid Polly now remains to be seen.
Excitement in Monterrey is building to a fever pitch for the LLF’s anniversary show this December, which will feature the return of the American Angel, as well as April Hunter, who will be bringing her new T&A tag team partner, Talía, down to Mexico…and other surprises are promised! You’ll find all of the details here at Luchadoras.net in the weeks to come!
